Prior to moving to Blue Ridge, I served as a ships' Captain aboard
private mega-yachts traveling around the world. Spending 20 years in a
very demanding "customer service" industry taught me how to
listen closely and thereby discern the needs of my clients. Combined with a
dogged determination to find for my clients exactly what they are
looking for has certainly contributed to my enjoyment as well as the
success of my real estate career.

In 1994 my wife and I flew to Phuket, Thailand where I took command of the yacht Dream Seeker. During the next 2 1/2 years we cruised the South Pacific, Asia, Indonesia, traveled across the Indian Ocean, through the Red Sea and Transited the Suez Canal. From there we summered in the Mediterranean, then proceeded across the Atlantic ocean through the Panama Canal for a 3 month trip to the Galapagos Islands off Ecuador.

| For 10 years prior to captaining the Dream Seeker I captained the motor yacht Affinity. I oversaw her construction in 1984 & 1985 in San Diego and after she launched we traveled to Alaska then transited the Panama Canal and ended up in Fort Lauderdale. We spent many summers in New England and the winters in the Caribbean. In 1992 we returned to San Diego for America’s Cup then spent the summer in Alaska before returning to New England.
In Nov. 1997, my wife Carol and I decided we needed a vacation. I retired from being a Yacht Captain and we were living in South Florida at the time. Thoughts of escaping to a secluded cabin in the mountains, situated on a bold, racing stream (preferably filled with trout) with a rocking chair porch, would do quite nicely. And we found it! We arrived in Blue Ridge staying in a lovely cabin on the bank of Fightingtown Creek and by the end of our first week on vacation we were looking at houses and property. Four months later we found our dream house; made the move and feel it was one of the our best decisions ever!
Real Estate needs in our area are as varied as our mountain views and waterways. Some people are in search of retirement homes, others for a get-away cabin for summers and vacations. Still others are looking for a second home, which will perhaps fulfill future needs. Though different in character, all are deserving of attentive, knowledgeable and professional service. Whether you are just beginning your search or the time for a change has arrived, I would be pleased to help. So, if you are looking for a real estate professional to work with, in a low-pressure atmosphere, please contact me at mail@buyblueridgerealestate.com or call 706-455-0077.
